Supplements

Supplements

I’m often asked what supplements I take, whether people actually need to supplement, and why.. doesn’t a healthy diet give us all we need?

After many years of research, and paying attention to health and nutrition experts, I came to the conclusion – as do most people who do the research – that the food we buy and eat these days, doesn’t fully address the nutritional needs of the body. Mostly due to a combination of unnatural refinement in the manufacturing processes, genetic modification which emphasises shelf life and visual appearance at the expense of nutrition, soil depletion from intensive farming, and perhaps the worst – the creation of artificial fast food products – ‘frankenfood’, which is not only not healthy, but actually harmful to consume. Add to that, the trend of eating a mostly ‘processed carbohydrate’ diet, and we have epidemic proportion illness and obesity.

So after many years of experimenting, I supplement, yes. And I’ve settled in on three primary sites to serve my needs. Two which provide the supplements, and one which I check for nutritional info. There are plenty of others I consult too of course, but these are my go-to first stops.

  1. Nu U Nutrition. Based in the UK, and all their products are UK manufactured. https://nuunutrition.com/
  2. Bulk Powders. Based in the UK. Awesome prices and quality. https://www.bulkpowders.co.uk/
  3. OKL Facebook Group – https://www.facebook.com/groups/OKL4Vitality/

What Do I Take

Those marked below with ** I would say are essential. Of those – Melatonin, Potassium Citrate, Vitamin D3, Omega 3 (DHA/EPA), B12/B Complex and Vitamin C are critical as a baseline.
