Yaro Starak Masterplan Review
I’ve just downloaded and read Yaro Staraks ‘Membershp Site Masterplan‘, and here’s my skinny on it:
First impression is that it’s smart, not full of ‘in your face’ hype - looks good. Has that ‘real person’ feel to it. The chapter headings weren’t as inspiring as they might be - but then that’s nice not to have crazy ‘make a million in your first week’ titles either.. Yaro gives a quick overview of how he grew his business over the period of a few years, and explains that having a membership site increased his income by 200% in that first year of running it.
His finishing quote on the intro was good:
It is my hope by following the steps in this document you will be able to replicate my system and launch a membership of your own and add an extra $100,000 or more to your bank account within the next 12 months.
There’s the usual testimonials, and an honest earnings disclaimer, and an open mention of his affiliate program - I’m liking this guy - he’s down to earth.
It’s clear from the start that Yaro is coming at this from the ‘ongoing revenue stream’ perspective. Although many membership sites are either free (build a list fast), or have a one-time payment to join, not monthly recurring fees. With the one-time fee, your income stream comes from new members, but also backend and upsells from existing members.
Sidenote: everyone knows that customers are easier to keep than to get - a bonus point for free or one-time fee membership sites, which people are typically more likely to register for - then you can build the relationship.. Back to the Masterplan:
On page 7, Yaro calls the membership site ‘the best business model there is’ - sounding good.. he also mentions the common idea that to make it big online, you need to have your own product, and of course your membership site is your own product!
Yaro mentions by following his membership site launch system, 100 members at $29 per month is the worst case scenario - that’s $32k per year - a salary replacing income.
Next, Yaro gives the reason why most membership sites fail to get off the ground - and of course he gives the solution right afterwards
- and I can speak from my own experiences - he’s right on the mark.
Yaro talks about leveraging his blog as a key marketing tool (and that it is optional - not so sure myself) - this is understated - Rich Schefren talks about this a lot - he is a serial ’successful entrepreneur’ and his blog is his most powerful marketing tool - it really is a very powerful tool when done correctly [Yaro also has a free Blog Profits Blueprint eBook which is excellent].
After an Introduction, the chapters are:

- Marketing Through Communication Channels

- Content and Pricing
- Psychological Triggers
- Prelaunch and Launch
- How to Deal With Attrition

So now we go onto chapter 1 - see next post
