SimpleCDN and Basic CNAME
I’ve been looking at SimpleCDN as a place to host video files for clients. It costs nothing to register, and you get $15 free usage to get you going.
Once you have an account, you simply create a bucket, which gives you the access information such as ftp login etc.
So then you can upload your content.
I wanted to test the basic (free) cname facility, however the documentation is sparse. But basically, it looks like this:
Create your bucket, let’s call it ‘mybucket’
Create your cname, something link: cdn.mydomain.com -> e1.simplecdn.net (or whatever yours is set to)
Then you can reach your content ‘my.file’ at:
http://cdn.mydomain.com/mybucket/my.file
easy..
